Tamuz Nissim and George Nazos

Vocalist Tamuz Nissim and guitarist George Nazos have been performing and recording together for over a decade. Through their work as part of bigger bands and collaborations on six records they discovered their passion for playing duet as well as quartet.

Their work has received extended reviews from the press and their records have been broadcasted in radio stations around the world while in the States they  have entered the JazzWeek, NACC and Roots Music Report radio charts.

Their project is so much more than the usual jazz guitarist accompanying a singer. It is a heartfelt conversation between two virtuosos soloists, sharing their fascinating life story in songs. A full range concert that celebrates life and love and ignites the imagination of anyone who hears it.

Tamuz Nissim, born in Tel Aviv Israel started her musical journey playing classical piano and Israeli music and got seriously into singing and playing jazz in high school.

George Nazos from Athens Greece, started guitar in his teen years. His journey started in Rock music and developed from fusion towards jazz and contemporary classical guitar works.

The two have met as students in Rotterdam Netherlands and later lived together in Greece and The United States. They travelled with their music around Europe and Latin America. Every place they visited contributed to their musical journey. Whether if it was the traditional songs or rhythms, stories of people they met along the road or the sounds of nature all contributed to their compositions and song arrangements creating their unique personal sound.

They’re repertoire consists of “Originals that are so smart they can bend light” (C. Michael Bailey All About Jazz) ,unique arrangements to well known songs by the Beatles, Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, Abbey Lincoln and to bop Jazz tunes as well as song from the American songbook.

“Scatting, swinging, singing and working her way into your heart as well as your ears, the vocal/guitar duo at the core of this show knows what are they are doing and where they want to go. A deceptively simple date, the skill and chops that go into making this all work are quite impressive indeed.”
