The American Hellenic Council Charitable Foundation

The American Hellenic Council Charitable Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization, which serves the educational and cultural needs of the Greek-American community of Southern California.

Since its inception, the AHC Charitable Foundation has financially supported the activities of local Greek-American cultural organizations and University programs, such as the Hellenic Library of Southern California, the Los Angeles Greek Film Festival, and the Hellenic Studies Program at Loyola Marymount University.

The Foundation also annually assists in subsidizing the National Hellenic Society’s “Heritage Greece” Program, which sends young Greek-Americans on an unforgettable trip to Greece to explore their ethnic heritage and roots through a cultural immersion experience.

Since 2015, the Charitable Foundation established the ‘Aris Anagnos Scholarship’, which rewards outstanding Greek-American students who have proven themselves individually, as well as academically.

Past Achievements of the Foundation

Project Elpis

In 2016, the Foundation raised $70,000 to purchase and donate medical ophthalmology equipment to the Hospital “Elpis” in Greece, which serves uninsured Greeks and others that are unable to have access to medical care.

Project #PrayForLesvos

In 2017, the Foundation raised $15,000 in humanitarian assistance to be sent to those suffering on the island of Lesvos after two major earthquakes. The Foundation is currently in the process of transferring those funds to families in need.
